Our main exhibition was held last year (as part of the HNC) at the Public, but those of who’ve “topped up” to an HND over the last year put up our work – along with the other Creative Arts students – in a “pop-up” in Queens Square Shopping Centre.
It’s not the first year this has happened, but it’s a tremendous way for the Centre to support emerging local talent.
So big thanks are due to Mel Glasby and his team at Queens Square for supporting emerging talent, and to our College tutors for making it all happen.
And thanks also to photographer Steve Morgan, who helped with the judging, and provided some really positive feedback.
I was showing images from my “Surfaces” abstracts, and from my work for the College Prespectus.
And … I was delighted (and not a little surprised) to win the “Best Photographer in Show” award (I’ll put a photo up when I pick it up). There are some photos on the Queens Square Facebook page.
